Tarawera River in Kawerau

This little beauty is situated in the middle of a sweet little kiwi town, only there because of the town mill. Its a great place to train, once you've got some wires and gates up. But can be used for every kind of training...loop,lactic,tech,fullies etc!!!The best site is in town by the rugby club, which has a pub. The site has wires hanging but you need to take gates. The river level stays almost exactly the same all year and is fast with small holes fast waves and tight eddies. The flow doesn't change because it is gauged by a lake at the top, where the water has to flow through a hole to get into the river. The river above the site has 20km of grade 2/3 with a bit of 4 depending on where you go.

Accomodation is pretty easy to find in the township, as most tourists don't really go there or even know about it.
